Two Left with Fatal Injuries in Separate Oakland County Crashes
Oakland County, CA (September 12, 2023) – Two people, including 57-year-old Lee James Hershman, succumbed to their injuries in separate Oakland County crashes. According to The Oakland Press, the crashes occurred on Monday.
Two individuals, including 57-year-old Lee James Hershman, succumbed to fatal injuries in separate Oakland County crashes on M-59 in Rochester Hills and Telegraph Road.
Two Oakland County crashes unfolded on M-59 in Rochester Hills and Telegraph Road in Bloomfield Township, resulting in significant traffic disruption and fatalities.
Regrettably, the first incident occurred early Monday on M-59’s eastbound lane between John R. and Dequindre roads. A westbound 2006 GMC Sierra pickup lost control and hit a 2008 Ford Taurus around 5:35 a.m.
Unfortunately, the Taurus driver, 57-year-old Lee James Hershman, died from his injuries.
Meanwhile, the 25-year-old pickup driver remains critically injured, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.
Additionally, the pickup struck a Buick Envision, whose Pontiac driver fortunately escaped harm.
The authorities urge any witnesses to call the Sheriff’s Office at 248-858-4950.
Later that afternoon, at about 1:15 p.m., an additional fatal crash occurred when a semi-truck collided with a car driven by a 70-year-old Orchard Lake man near Bloomfield Town Square Shopping Center on Telegraph Road.
Tragically, the man died later at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital.
Authorities confirmed no evidence of substance impairment from the semi-truck driver.
Investigations of both accidents are underway.
