16-Year-Old Girl Killed After Plunging into Water-Filled Canal in a Rural Sutter County Crash
Sutter County, CA (September 13, 2023) – A 16-year-old girl from Knights Landing succumbed to fatal injuries after plunging into a water-filled canal in a rural Sutter County crash. According to CBS, the crash occurred around 7:30 am on Wednesday.

The California Highway Patrol reports the driver missed a 90-degree turn at the junction of Bogue Road and Clements Road, leading the car off-road.
Consequently, the vehicle in question, a 2014 Chevy Camaro, flipped into a water-filled ditch.
Following this, a bystander immediately dialed 911, and first responders hurried to the accident site.
Several Sutter County firefighters jumped into the canal to extract the young girl from the wreckage.
Unfortunately, she was unresponsive, leading them to initiate CPR.
However, she was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
While her name is yet to be disclosed, the Sutter County Coroner rectified the initial age mistake by CHP, clarifying that the girl was 16, not 21.
