Los Angeles, CA (September 21, 2023) – One person succumbed to fatal injuries in a 405 Freeway crash involving a semi-truck and a Volkswagen Beetle. According to FOX11, the officers responded around 4:42 a.m. on Thursday.

The California Highway Patrol responded to a deadly 405 Freeway crash near Bel Air.
The accident, which involved a semi-truck and a Volkswagen Beetle, resulted in notable setbacks for Sepulveda Pass commuters for several hours.
Upon arriving at the location on the southbound 405 Freeway at North Mulholland Drive, authorities found both vehicles heavily damaged on the side of the freeway.
According to the authorities, the semi-truck was moving at a “low speed” when the Volkswagen Beetle collided with it, eventually getting stuck underneath.
Unfortunately, the Volkswagen driver passed away right at the accident scene.
At the time, it was unknown if the crash was drug or alcohol-related.
Furthermore, to conduct a thorough investigation of the crash, the southbound 405 Freeway had two lanes closed for several hours.
All lanes were reopened by 11:00 a.m.
