Following the collision, the red pickup truck fled the scene without rendering aid.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Toyota Tacoma stopped to assist the injured pedestrian, remained at the scene, and cooperated with law enforcement.
Moreover, despite the prompt response of the Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics, Yong Gustavson died at the scene.
