An East Bakersfield DUI Crash Killed a 29-Year-Old Female Passenger, Two Drivers Arrested
Bakersfield, CA (February 21, 2024) – An East Bakersfield DUI crash left a 29-year-old woman dead. Authorities also arrested the drivers involved suspected of DUI. According to BakersfieldNow, the police received reports about the crash at around 1:35 a.m. on Saturday.

An East Bakersfield DUI crash on Saturday led to the death of a 29-year-old woman and arrests of two drivers suspected of DUI.
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded to the scene located at Pioneer Drive and Dennison Lane. Upon arrival, authorities determined that the collision involved two vehicles and resulted in one fatality.
The preliminary investigation stated that a 33-year-old Bakersfield man was operating a 2017 Chevrolet, traveling westbound on Pioneer Drive east of Dennison Lane at an unspecified speed. Simultaneously, a 29-year-old Bakersfield man was driving a 2015 Honda in the opposite direction on Pioneer Drive.
For reasons yet to be determined, the driver of the Chevrolet veered left, crossing the double solid yellow center lines, and subsequently collided head-on with the Honda. Both vehicles came to rest on their wheels, blocking traffic on Pioneer Drive.
Unfortunately, the right front passenger in the Honda, identified as a 29-year-old woman, sustained severe injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Two additional occupants in the Honda were transported to Kern Medical for treatment.
Meanwhile, following the investigation, Gabriel Coronel, the driver of the Chevrolet, was arrested on charges of felony gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and felony driving under the influence of alcohol, causing injury.
Similarly, Brayden Aragon, the driver of the Honda, faced arrest on misdemeanor charges for driving under the influence of alcohol in connection with this East Bakersfield DUI crash.
