Los Angeles, CA (March 5, 2024) – An Altadena car crash on West Loma Alta Drive killed John Michael Ross (29) of Altadena and Emalie Marie Ortiz (23) of Alhambra. According to Pasadena Now, the police received reports about the crash at about 1:00 a.m on Tuesday.

An Altadena car crash left a man and a woman dead, identified as John Michael Ross (29) of Altadena and Emalie Marie Ortiz (23) of Alhambra, as confirmed by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
According to California Highway Patrol, John Michael Ross was driving a 2019 Audi Q5 west on Loma Alta Drive when the SUV collided with the rear of a parked 2008 Volvo CX 90, resulting in fatal injuries to both driver and passenger.
Upon arrival, Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel sadly pronounced both occupants of the vehicle deceased, including the passenger – Emalie Marie Ortiz.
Meanwhile, the CHP statement indicated that alcohol or drugs are not believed to have played a role in the collision. The driver, however, may have been speeding during the crash.
