Tracy, CA (March 31, 2024) – A Tracy wrong-way crash on Interstate 580 killed two individuals and injured three others, including a two-month old girl. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the accident occurred shortly after 2:00 a.m. on Sunday.

The incident occurred on Interstate 580, west of Corral Hollow Road, where an 18-year-old Antioch man driving a Honda Accord traveled eastbound in the westbound lanes and collided head-on with a Kia Telluride.
The impact caused both vehicles to overturn, and the Accord driver was ejected.
Unfortunately, the Accord driver succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene.
Meanwhile, the Kia driver, a 32-year-old Fort Bragg woman, sustained critical injuries and was transported to San Joaquin General Hospital, where she later died.
The identities of both drivers are being withheld pending notification of their next of kin.
Additionally, among the passengers in the Kia, a 35-year-old individual and a 2-month-old infant suffered significant injuries. Police then sent them to San Joaquin General. A 4-year-old boy also sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Moreover, the CHP has not yet determined whether alcohol or drugs were factors in this Tracy wrong-way crash. They urge anyone who witnessed the incident to contact the Tracy area office at 209-319-4300.
