Chino Hills, CA (May 6, 2024) – A Chino truck crash killed one Caltrans contract worker after a box truck ran over two crewmembers doing cleanup work. According to NBC Los Angeles, the police received reports about the crash at around 8:30 a.m. on Monday.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident, reported around 8:30 a.m., occurred when the truck veered off the right shoulder, careened down an embankment, and struck two construction workers.
The crew’s vehicle was stationed on the roadside, with the team members positioned down the slope, engaged in their cleanup duties.
Unfortunately, one of the workers succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Meanwhile, the condition of the second victim remains undisclosed.
Caltrans also mentioned that the victim of this Chino truck crash was likely transitioning out of probation or incarceration.
Moreover, CHP stated that the box truck driver cooperated with the investigation. After assessment, officials confirmed that drugs and alcohol were not involved in this Chino truck crash.
