Ronald Richardson’s Family Filed a Lawsuit Against Trails End Mobile Home Park.
Fresno, CA (February 2, 2022) – Ronald Richardson (56) died in a fire that broke out in Trails End Mobile Home Park on April 29, 2021 in Fresno. His family recently filed a wrongful death lawsuit against operators of the Trails End Mobile Home Park.
According to the lawsuit, Ronald Richardson and Susan Dahlstrom were visitors at a mobile home in the said park when the fire started. As stated in the lawsuit, Richardson “entered the unit several times to rescue others who were stuck inside.” It said that he helped some people escape, but he got trapped inside. He died during the incident.
Richardson died trying to help people get to safety.
According to the allegations in the lawsuit, the Trails End Mobile Home Park operators’ failed to address violations prior to the incident. In fact, these violations included fire hazards and other habitability issues.
Also, the California Department of Housing and Community Development allegedly suspended Trails End’s license to operate three months prior to the incident, but the park kept its operations going. You can read the full lawsuit here.
Jacoby & Meyers partner Shane Hapuarachy is serving as the plaintiff’s attorney. His practice focuses on wrongful death and personal injury cases. He also has a solid track record with millions-worth of verdicts and settlements. In an interview with ABC30, Mr. Hapuarachy says, “neither the city, the county, or the state — all of which had the authority to do so — did anything to stop what was going on in the park.”
Recently, the trailer park is handled by a receivership under the city’s oversight.
People involved in the lawsuit are scheduled for a case management conference at the Fresno County civil courthouse in May.
We express our deepest sympathies for the family and friends of Ronald Richardson.
Definitely, no amount of money will ever make up for the death of a loved one. However, receiving the maximum settlement and winning a judgment can give a sense of justice. Also, it can offer some peace of mind.
