Dante Giancarlo Longo Got Killed in a Solo-Vehicle Accident
El Cajon, CA (February 7, 2022) – Dante Giancarlo Longo (24) got killed in a single-vehicle accident in El Cajon. The incident happened at around 3:00 am on Sunday.
According to authorities, he was on Vernon Way when he crossed the line of traffic for unknown reasons. Then, he crashed into a parked box truck. Longo was pronounced dead at the scene.

Longo was the only person in the vehicle during the crash. At the moment, the El Cajon Police Department is investigating the case.
Longo played soccer at Cal State San Marcos. In an interview with FOX 5 San Diego, his college soccer coach said that he can’t believe what had happened to one of his players. “I couldn’t believe it, to be honest with you… It took another phone call from another person to believe that it was real,” coach Ron Pulvers said.
According to Pulvers and Longo’s coach from GreenSpeed Training Facility Tom Green, Longo got involved with a crash in 2018, which almost took his life. Green said, “He was in a really bad accident in 2018 that almost took his life and he was in a coma and survived that… And for this to happen a second and for him not to survive was really shocking.”
Longo’s loved ones felt intense grief over the loss. His teammates honored his memory by holding a candlelight vigil at Moonlight beach from 5:30 to 7:30 pm on Wednesday evening. His loved ones also set up a GoFundMe page to aid memorial costs and gather donations.
