Tien Le and Binh Nguyen Killed in Car Crash Caused by Chase in Sacramento
Sacramento, CA (May 23, 2022) – Tien Le (46) and Binh Nguyen (54) were identified as fatalities in a multi-car accident in Sacramento. According to ABC 10, they got caught in the middle of a car chase that started at around 9:00 am on Saturday.
A chase ensued involving two vehicles, one of which crashed into Tien Le and Binh Nguyen’s car.
According to authorities, the at-fault driver’s vehicle and another car started driving recklessly. Officers were then dispatched to stop both vehicles. However, they led police in a pursuit up to a half-mile distance.
Then, the at-fault driver crashed into Le and Nguyen’s car near the Stockton Boulevard-65th Street intersection. Responders found Le and Nguyen dead at the scene. Meanwhile, they transported the at-fault driver to a hospital for medical care because of major injuries.
Authorities shared to ABC 10 that Le and Nguyen weren’t involved in the chase before the crash. As stated in an article on FOX 40, Le and Nguyen were a married couple with two kids. Their passing left behind an 8-year-old daughter and a 5-year-old son.
Right now, the California Highway Patrol’s investigation is ongoing. Investigators are also reviewing the incident to see if authorities complied with standard pursuit policy.
