Northshore Woman Identified as Victim in Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash in Lake County
Lake County, CA (June 19, 2022) – Amanda Arney (24) of Nice was identified as the fatality in a hit-and-run crash in Lake County on Sunday. According to Lake County News, the incident reportedly occurred around 12:10 am.
Authorities are now seeking the unidentified driver responsible for the fatal hit-and-run crash.
On Sunday, a hit-and-run crash on Highway 20 in Lake County killed a 24-year-old woman from Northshore.
The California Highway Patrol’s Lake Area office identified the 24-year-old woman as Amanda Arney of Nice. Reports say that Arney was walking eastbound on the south shoulder of Highway 20 when a vehicle traveling at an unknown speed struck her.
After being struck, Arney was reportedly thrown down to a barrier and eventually came to rest near a fence.
Meanwhile, the unidentified driver fled the scene without reporting and checking on the victim.
Arney was discovered at the scene hours after the incident. Fire department personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced Arney dead due to her injuries.
Authorities said that the investigators had not yet identified the driver.
