Ruben Garcia Suffered Fatal Injuries in Fresno Pedestrian Crash
Fresno, CA (June 14, 2023) – Ruben Garcia (20) succumbed to fatal injuries sustained in a Fresno pedestrian crash near South Chestnut and East Central Avenue. According to Your Central Valley, the accident occurred around 3:00 am on Tuesday.
Ruben Garcia was fatally injured in a pedestrian crash near East Central Avenue in Fresno.
The California Highway Patrol responded to a crash involving a Toyota and a pedestrian on Central Avenue near Chestnut Avenue, leaving a 20-year-old victim with life-threatening injuries.
They identified the fatality as 20-year-old Ruben Garcia of Fresno.
According to Carlos Trejo, spokesperson of CHP, the driver heading north abruptly veered left in an attempt to avoid Garcia, who was trying to cross east in an intersection. However, the vehicle still struck him.
Responders said the 20-year-old victim was trapped under the vehicle and died at the scene.
Meanwhile, a 17-year-old friend, who was with Garcia, called 9-1-1 in a nearby convenience store to report the crash.
Moreover, authorities believe that alcohol or drugs are not a factor in the collision.
This Fresno pedestrian crash remains under investigation.
