Pomona, CA (October 4, 2023) – A 10 Freeway multi-vehicle crash killed a mother and injured three, including two children, after colliding with a semi-trailer truck and another vehicle in Pomona. According to the Daily Bulletin, police received reports about the crash around 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

The medical examiner’s office has not publicly identified the victim, but the California Highway Patrol described her as a 30-year-old West Covina woman.
According to CHP spokesman Officer Joseph Davila, the incident occurred east of Fairplex Drive when a Kia Forte, a semi-truck, and a trailer collided, resulting in the Kia overturning and coming to rest on its roof.
Initially, the semi-trailer truck collided with the Kia, causing it to overturn.
Subsequently, while the Kia obstructed a lane following the initial collision, the driver of a Toyota Camry failed to avoid the wreckage and collided with the passenger side of the Kia.
Unfortunately, the Kia driver succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene.
Meanwhile, the victim’s two children, a 6-year-old son and a 7-year-old daughter, suffered various injuries in the crash.
Responders then transported the boy to Children’s Hospital of Orange County with severe injuries, while the girl was taken to Pomona Valley Hospital with minor injuries.
Moreover, the police closed all westbound freeway lanes while the CHP investigated this 10 Freeway multi-vehicle crash.
