Los Angeles, CA (March 23, 2023) – An 11-year-old girl was identified as the fatality in a 60 Freeway hit-and-run crash in Los Angeles. According to NBC Los Angeles, the crash occurred around 4:00 am on Wednesday.

The California Highway Patrol reported a tragic 60 Freeway hit-and-run crash in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
One victim died at the scene. The coroner’s office recently identified her as Angelique Zarate, an 11-year-old girl.
According to reports, the young girl was an occupant of a westbound Toyota Corolla. Their vehicle was on the 60 Freeway in Hacienda Heights when a wrong-way driver struck them.
The driver continued on and later crashed into more vehicles near Crossroads Parkway. He then reportedly fled the scene on foot.
Authorities determined that the wrong-way driver was involved in a prior collision that caused his vehicle to spin out of control and face the wrong way.
The driver of the Toyota Corolla was also hospitalized for major injuries. A big rig driver also sustained a minor injury.
As of Thursday, no arrests have been reported yet.
