Suspected DUI in Fresno County Sent Seven People to Hospital
Fresno County, CA (May 31, 2022) – A suspected DUI accident in Fresno County sent seven people to the hospital. According to ABC 30, the incident happened at around 2:00 pm on Monday.
Seven people sustained injuries in a suspected DUI accident on S. Greenwood and American Avenue in Fresno County.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a GMC on S. Greenwood went south into American Avenue. Then, it ran a stop sign, colliding with a Jeep. Three people in the GMC then got thrown off the vehicle because of the impact. Meanwhile, the Jeep hit a phone pole.
Responders arrived at the scene. They then transported the occupants of the GMC and the Jeep to a hospital for medical care.
One of the victims occupying the GMC, a 17-year-old girl, sustained severe injuries. Responders then airlifted her from the scene to Community Regional Medical Center while in critical condition.
Meanwhile, authorities arrested the Jeep’s driver for suspected DUI. However, the Jeep’s driver claimed to not be at fault for the accident.
