Alfred Joseph Marvray IV, a 28-year-old Los Angeles resident, died in a Los Angeles DUI crash at the intersection of South Western Avenue and West Century Boulevard, as confirmed by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
Authorities also arrested the driver, 26-year-old Destiney Baker of Hawthorne, suspected of DUI.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the driver of a Tesla Model 3 was traveling southbound on Western at a high speed when it ran a red light and collided with a silver Chevrolet Malibu heading eastbound on Century.
Surveillance footage captured the intense crash, which propelled the Malibu several yards from the impact site and caused fatal injuries to the driver.
The deceased Chevrolet driver, identified as Alfred Joseph Marvray IV, was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
Meanwhile, the 26-year-old Tesla driver, Destiney Baker of Hawthorne, was observed undergoing a sobriety test and subsequently placed under arrest.
Baker has then been booked on suspicion of murder and is being held on $2 million bail. Police suspect that Baker was driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to reports.
