Allan Thorpe Fatally Struck by a Vehicle on Old Redwood Highway in Penngrove
Penngrove, CA (October 18, 2022) – Allan Thorpe (73) of Sebastopol was identified as the fatality in a pedestrian accident on October 9 in Penngrove. According to The Press Democrat, the accident was reported around 7:56 pm on Sunday.
Allan Thorpe was fatally struck by a vehicle as they attempted to cross Old Redwood Highway in Penngrove.
Santa Rosa CHP officers responded to a fatal collision involving two pedestrians and a vehicle on Old Redwood Highway in Penngrove.
One of the pedestrians, later identified as Allan Thorpe of Sebastopol, died at the scene. His companion, Beth Thorpe, was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital due to major injuries.
According to authorities, the two pedestrians attempted to cross Old Redwood Highway from a parking lot when they were struck by a vehicle.
Officer David deRutte, a CHP spokesperson, mentioned that the driver did not see the two pedestrians as there was no lighting and crosswalk in the area.
A recent report said that the other pedestrian, Beth Thorpe is now in fair condition.
However, this incident remains under investigation.
