April Zoglauer, a 21-year-old San Jose resident, succumbed to fatal injuries after a vehicle struck their car and eventually fled in a San Jose hit-and-run crash.
However, doctors were able to deliver her baby successfully.
The collision occurred around 8:40 p.m. on Blossom Hill Road, where April Zoglauer was driving her black 2008 Nissan sedan.
According to the San Jose police, her vehicle collided with a white 2013 Hyundai sedan traveling south on Winfield Boulevard.
Two individuals, known only as “unknown males,” fled from the stolen Hyundai, which had not been reported as stolen at the time of the crash.
Meanwhile, responders rushed Zoglauer to a hospital with severe injuries, where she later died. Her child, however, was successfully delivered but remains in critical condition.
