Police also mentioned that the 21-year-old woman was not within a crosswalk or intersection during the crash. Sadly, she passed away shortly afterward at Community Regional Medical Center.
Investigations revealed that the driver of the vehicle, who remained at the scene, recounted that he was driving southbound on Clovis Avenue when his car collided with an object on the road. Realizing it was a person upon stopping, he promptly dialed 911 for assistance.
The driver, described as cooperative with officers, possessed a valid driver’s license and was en route to work at the time of the tragic incident.
