A Fiery Crash Involving Multiple Vehicles in Rialto Killed Ashley Gilroy and an 8-Year-Old Girl
Rialto, CA (August 3, 2022) – Ashley Gilroy (33) and Marlee Maldonado (8) of Highland were identified as the fatalities in a fiery multi-vehicle crash on Valley Boulevard and Riverside Avenue in Rialto. According to KTLA, the crash was reported around 6:30 pm on Monday.
A fiery multi-vehicle crash reportedly caused by a speeding vehicle on Valley Boulevard and Riverside Avenue in Rialto killed Ashley Gilroy and an 8-year-old girl.
The Rialto Police Department responded to reports of a fiery multi-vehicle crash on Valley Boulevard and Riverside Avenue in Rialto.
One female driver and a child passenger were found to be trapped in one of the vehicles involved in the crash. Both died at the scene. They were later identified as Ashley Gilroy and Marlee Maldonado of Highland.
According to reports, a Jeep was reportedly speeding and initially sideswiped a Chevrolet Silverado. Then, it continued on and rear-ended a stopped Kia Sorento which caused a chain crash involving four additional vehicles.
Following the crash, two vehicles were engulfed in flames and several others were damaged. Unfortunately, attempts of removing the trapped occupants inside one of the vehicles were unsuccessful. When the Rialto Fire Department arrived, they were able to extinguish the fire and attend to the other victims involved.
Two other victims reportedly sustained non-life-threatening injuries and are currently hospitalized.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Jeep was identified as Paul Larios of San Bernardino. He was one of the fatalities in the crash.
