Azucena Ibarra Gonzalez Killed in Car Crash on Fox Road in Merced County
Merced County, CA (March 14, 2022) – Azucena Ibarra Gonzalez (35) died and 3 children got injured in a two-vehicle accident on Fox Road in Merced County. According to the Merced Sun-Star, the incident happened at around 7:00 am on Monday.
According to authorities, Gonzalez drove a Chevrolet SUV westbound on Bellevue Road. She had 3 children as passengers. Then, Gonzalez made a turn at an intersection, failing to stop at a stop sign. After making the turn, she hit a big rig going north on Fox Road. The big rig was hauling 79,000 pounds of chicken feed.
Azucena Ibarra Gonzalez died after making a turn at the intersection and hitting a big rig, which hauled chicken feed.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) shared that the big rig hit the driver’s side door of the Chevrolet. They also noted that Fox Road had no stop sign for northbound or southbound traffic at the intersection.
Responders pronounced Gonzalez dead at the scene. On the other hand, her passengers sustained minor to moderate injuries. They transported the 3 children to Valley Children’s Hospital for medical care. Meanwhile, the big rig’s driver sustained no injuries.
This case is currently being investigated by the CHP.
