Local Fire Department Chairman, Barry Andrew McClain, Fatal in a Sacramento Car Crash
Sacramento, CA (July 2, 2023) – Barry Andrew McClain (70) was identified as the fatality in a Sacramento car crash on Highway 160 in Sacramento. According to the Sacramento Bee, the accident occurred about 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
Barry Andrew McClain, a local fire department chairman, succumbed to fatal injuries sustained in a car crash on Highway 160 in Sacramento.
The California Highway Patrol responded to a fatal car crash on Highway 160, roughly a mile south of Hood Franklin Road in Sacramento.
The victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified the fatality as 70-year-old Barry Andrew McClain, a local fire department chairman.
According to the initial report, McClain went off the road, attempting to avoid a head-on collision. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries.
Meanwhile, the other driver is suspected of driving under the influence during the accident.
According to the district’s website, McClain was a chairman of the Courtland Fire Protection District’s board of directors, which protects around 2,500 people throughout a 33-square-mile region of southern Sacramento County.
In November 2020, the committee re-elected McClain to the post.
Courtland Fire Chief Vince Peters declined to comment on McClain’s death on Sunday.
