Burbank, CA (October 12, 2023) – A Burbank pedestrian crash killed an 82-year-old woman after being struck by a pickup truck while crossing the street. According to NewsBreak, the crash happened around 9:00 am on Tuesday.

Sgt. Stephen Turner, a spokesman for the Burbank Police Department, said the officers responded to a traffic collision at the intersection of West Verdugo Avenue and North Buena Vista Street, where a pedestrian was involved.
Upon inspection, detectives found the woman severely injured in the roadway.
Subsequently, she was transported to a nearby hospital, where, unfortunately, she eventually succumbed to her injuries.
An investigation revealed that the woman had started crossing North Buena Vista Street in a marked crosswalk, heading westbound from the south of Verdugo Avenue.
At this moment, a Toyota Tundra pickup truck whose driver was moving west on Verdugo struck her and began to turn left onto southbound Buena Vista Street.
Meanwhile, the driver remained at the collision site.
Furthermore, detectives confirmed neither drugs nor alcohol were involved, and they did not believe the driver had been speeding.
The investigation into the collision is still ongoing, with no arrests reported thus far.
