Los Angeles, CA (February 16, 2023) – Erick Barbosa-Guardado (19) of Reseda, a Cal State Northridge student, was identified as the fatality in a pursuit crash in Los Angeles. According to KTLA, the pursuit began around 12:30 am.
Erick Barbosa-Guardado, an innocent victim, was fatally struck by fleeing suspects in a pursuit crash in Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles Police Department reported a fatal pursuit crash involving two fleeing suspects and an innocent victim.
Authorities identified the innocent victim as Erick Barbosa-Guardado, a sophomore studying civil engineering at Cal State Northridge.
He was reportedly on his way home from work when the crash happened.
According to LAPD, they initially attempted to stop a Toyota RAV4 occupied by two suspects wanted for armed robbery in San Fernando Valley.
The pursuit started when the driver sped away and ran a red light. This caused the suspects to slam into another vehicle driven by the victim.
Both suspects tried to flee the scene, but officers were able to take the driver into custody. However, the other suspect managed to get away.
Right now, the victim’s loved ones are seeking justice and mourning the loss of the young student.
