Bakersfield, CA (May 1, 2023) – Cesar Tlatelpa (43) of Bakersfield was identified as the fatality in a hit-and-run crash in Lamont. According to Bakersfield Now, the crash occurred at 8:11 p.m on April 13, 2023.

California Highway Patrol responded to a fatal hit-and-run crash where a driver struck a 43-year-old pedestrian in Lamont on April 13, 2023.
Kern County Coroner officials identified the 43-year-old victim as Cesar Tlatelpa from Bakersfield.
According to CHP, Tlatelpa was crossing westbound across the northbound lane of Weedpatch Highway when a driver hit him.
After the crash, authorities found the pedestrian in the right area of northbound Weedpatch Highway at Blackburn Street.
He suffered multiple blunt-force traumatic injuries, which caused his death.
After causing the casualty, the driver then fled the accident scene.
Eyewitnesses saw the driver northbound on Weedpatch Highway, Senatra, or Altima.
The cause of this Bakersfield hit-and-run crash is yet to be determined.
However, police suspect that the driver overlooked Tlatelpa as he failed to slow down, stop, or avoid hitting the pedestrian.
