Bakersfield Resident Identified in Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Oildale
Bakersfield, CA (June 27, 2022) – Christina Eileen Walker (50) of Bakersfield was identified as the victim of a fatal pedestrian accident in Oildale.
Further investigation showed that a woman was struck by an SUV driver when she crossed into the lanes outside a crosswalk.
Authorities responded to reports of a crash in North Chester and Lincoln Avenue. When they arrived at the scene, they found that the crash involved a pedestrian and an SUV.
Following the collision, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The Kern County coroner’s office later identified the victim as Christina Eileen Walker of Bakersfield.
Further investigation showed that a woman was struck by an SUV driver when she crossed into the lanes outside a crosswalk.
The SUV driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. He was later identified as Richard Wesson.
Wesson then told investigators that he was not able to “slow, stop or take evasive action” when he struck Walker.
