Bakersfield, CA (July 29, 2023) – Two Bakersfield police officers sustained injuries in an East California Avenue car crash in Bakersfield. According to Bakersfield Now, the accident happened around 11:10 p.m. on Thursday.
An East California Avenue car crash caused two Bakersfield police officers with injuries after their vehicle collided with another car.
The California Highway Patrol responded to a fatal single-vehicle crash on Highway 99 in the northbound lanes north of Tuolumne Boulevard.
According to authorities, a Chevrolet pickup was traveling in the fast lane when, for unknown reasons, it made an unsafe left turn.
As a result, the front of the Chevy struck the center concrete barrier wall.
Authorities identified the man involved in the accident as 69-year-old Corando Deleon.
Unfortunately, Coronado Deleon, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
At the time of the crash, authorities were uncertain if Deleon’s death resulted from the injuries he sustained in the collision or if another fatal medical condition caused it.
