Spring Valley, CA (December 31, 2023) – Dale Alan Pumphrey (62) of El Cajon succumbed to fatal injuries after a Spring Valley pedestrian crash on southbound SR 125, south of Jamacha Road. According to NBC San Diego, the crash happened around 8:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Dale Alan Pumphrey, a 62-year-old resident of El Cajon, died after he was hit by a vehicle on New Year’s Eve.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred on southbound State Route 125, just past Jamacha Road.
The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the pedestrian as Dale Alan Pumphrey, a tow truck operator.
Reportedly, he was on the shoulder loading a car onto his flatbed truck when the accident occurred.
In addition, the authorities revealed that a Toyota Prius, driven by a 60-year-old man, hit Dale Alan Pumphrey.
The Prius driver somehow swerved from his lane. As a result, he hit the back of Dale Alan Pumphey’s truck and struck him.
Despite first responders’ prompt efforts, Dale Alan Pumphrey died at the scene.
At present, the CHP doesn’t believe drugs or alcohol had any role in the accident. The Prius driver, who remained uninjured, stayed on site after the crash.
