Oakdale, CA (April 29, 2024) – Daniel Steffens (34) of Waterford succumbed to fatal injuries after crashing into a power line pole in an Oakdale solo crash. According to the Modesto Bee, the crash happened before 1:40 a.m. on Saturday.

Daniel Steffens, a 34-year-old resident of Waterford, died after an Oakdale solo crash on Yosemite Avenue north of Wakefield Drive on Saturday, as confirmed by the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office.
The California Highway Patrol’s preliminary investigation found that Daniel Steffens, driving a 2012 Audi sedan, was southbound in South Yosemite’s “slow lane” when he veered left into the northbound lanes. He then continued onto the raised concrete curb before hitting the Pacific Gas & Electric pole.
Unfortunately, he succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene.
Moreover, Steffens, alone in his car, wore his seat belt during the crash. However, it is not yet known if drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash.
Additionally, the report makes no mention of speed or efforts to brake.
A GoFundMe page also gives his name as Daniel Wayne Steffens Jr. and says survivors include his wife and three Children.
