Modesto, CA (November 9, 2023) – Daniel Trevarthen (64) of Modesto died at the scene of a Modesto pedestrian crash after a vehicle hit him. According to The Modesto Bee, the authorities received reports about the crash at about 6:00 a.m. on Thursday.

The Merced Communication Center received a call around 6 a.m., prompting first responders to rush to the scene.
Upon arrival, they discovered Daniel Trevarthen, unresponsive, lying in the southbound lane of Santa Cruz near its intersection with Mono Drive, alongside a white Chevrolet SUV, according to a California Highway Patrol.
Despite immediate lifesaving efforts, Trevarthen succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Moreover, preliminary investigation suggests that the Chevrolet was traveling southbound on Santa Cruz, approaching Mono “at an unknown speed.”
Meanwhile, Trevarthen, in a wheelchair, entered the intersection without a marked crosswalk. Unfortunately, the Chevrolet failed to avoid the crash.
