Escondido, CA (September 21, 2022) – Delfino Gonzalez (39) was identified as the fatality in a suspected DUI crash on I-15 in Escondido. According to ABC10News, the crash happened around 4:00 am on Sunday.

The victim was identified as Delfino Gonzalez. He reportedly died at the scene of the crash.
According to reports, Gonzalez was on his way home with his cousin when he ran out of gas near the exit of I-15. Gonzalez then got out of his vehicle and walked to buy gas when a Lexus fatally struck him.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Lexus stayed at the scene. Authorities identified the driver as Cyrus Peterson of San Diego. Peterson was later arrested for driving under the influence.
Gonzalez is survived by his wife and four children. Mourning family members remember Gonzalez as a devoted husband and father to his family.
A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to aid with funeral costs and other expenses.
