What is a Super Lawyers Rating?
A Super Lawyers rating is one of the most prestigious acknowledgments in the industry. It’s a service listing that includes exemplary lawyers from over 70 practice areas. This rating is attained based on a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Each nominee goes through a stringent patented selection process, which has multiple phases.
The selection process begins with a nomination, which can be initiated in different ways. A lawyer can be added to the candidate pool through a managing partner survey, third-party feedback, identification by the Super Lawyers research team, or nomination by peers. Then, the candidate is evaluated based on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement. Selection is done on an annual, state-by-state basis. The goal is to create a credible, comprehensive, and diverse list of excellent attorneys, which can be useful to anyone who needs legal counsel.

We are thrilled that one of our attorneys, Demetrios Papanikolas, has received a Super Lawyers rating. He is a litigator who upholds utmost professionalism, using his decades of experience. Mr. Papanikolas has been fighting for his clients’ rights as a licensed attorney in California since 1990. Also, he has been licensed in Maryland since 1994. In addition to that, he is licensed with the Federal Ninth Circuit and five Federal District Courts.
A member of the prestigious American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), he has successfully achieved multiple jury verdicts including over $1 million which granted him membership to the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. His track record includes trial victories in Los Angeles, Riverside, San Diego, San Joaquin and Ventura counties. In addition he has successfully litigated cases involving serious injuries sustained in Alameda, Contra Costa, Kern, Orange, Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano and Sonoma counties.
Mr. Papanikolas has been committed to excellence even before he started his practice. He got his Bachelor of Arts degree with multiple honors including Phi Beta Kappa from Vassar College. Later on, he went to UCLA School of Law. During his time there, he was acknowledged as a Distinguished Advocate in the Moot Court Honors Program. He then worked as a civil litigator for a distinguished business and construction law firm in Los Angeles. After finding success as a construction lawyer, he started taking on personal injury cases. He used his experience as leverage to excel as a personal injury lawyer in a well-known motorcycle injury law firm.
When Mr. Papanikolas is not working, he dedicates his time in volunteer activities including having served as Board Chair on the Board of Trustees of Crestview Preparatory School. He was recognized by his peers, which led to his Super Lawyers selection for 2022. We are extremely proud of Demetrios Papanikolas and all of his achievements.
