Dylan Yoacham Victim in Fatal Hit-And-Run Crash in Sutter Creek of Amador County
Sutter Creek, CA (May 19, 2022) – Dylan Yoacham (15) died after getting in a hit-and-run crash in Sutter Creek of Amador County. According to the Sacramento Bee, the incident happened at around 8:30 pm on Tuesday.
According to the Sutter Creek Police Department, it received a report about a hit-and-run accident within the Highway 49 and Valley View Way area. The report stated that a vehicle hit Yoacham while he was crossing the road.
Dylan Yoacham got hit by a vehicle as he tried to walk across the road.
Responders arrived and found Yoacham with severe injuries. They then transported him to a hospital in Sacramento where he later died.
Yoacham’s family members set up a GoFundMe page to raise money to cover funeral costs.
They stated in the page, “Dylan at 15 had touched so many lives with his amazing personality and laughter that he often shared with others.” They continued, “the family asks for continued prayers and some time to start processing this tragedy.”
According to the Sacramento Bee, Sutter Creek authorities later found the suspected vehicle involved in the accident. With the help of the California Highway Patrol and the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office, they identified the hit-and-run driver as Matthew Galea (40) from El Dorado County. Authorities then arrested Galea under suspicion of felony hit-and-run. They booked him at Amador County Jail.
