15-Year-Old Boy Sustained Fatal Injuries in Encinitas E-Bike Crash
Encinitas, CA (June 26, 2023) – A 15-year-old boy sustained fatal injuries after being hit by a vehicle in an Encinitas e-bike crash. According to Fox 5, the crash occurred around 6 p.m. on June 22.

The San Diego Sheriff’s Department reported the fatality in an Encinitas e-bike crash involving a white work van and an e-bike on El Camino Real south of Encinitas Boulevard.
The San Diego Medical’s Examiner Office identified the fatality as 15-year-old Brodee Braxton Champlain-Kingman.
According to the report, the adolescent was driving north on South El Camino Real when he changed lanes, going in the path of a cargo van.
Due to the impact of the crash, the teen succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
The driver, on the other hand, did not sustain any injuries from the collision.
Moreover, Encinitas Mayor Tony Kranz intends to push for an Emergency Declaration over e-bike safety concerns at the next municipal meeting on Wednesday.
Brodee attended San Dieguito High School Academy in the ninth grade. The school is conducting a candlelight vigil for the fatal victim, stating that “he was an amazing son, brother, and friend.”
His loved ones raised a GoFundMe campaign for the expenses of his funeral.
