Bakersfield, CA (June 23, 2023) – Erick Mikail Bartlett (26) succumbed to fatal injuries sustained in a Edison Highway hit-and-run in the area of Edison Highway at Webster Street in east Bakersfield. According to Bakersfield Now, the accident occurred around 3:32 a.m. on June 16.
Erick Mikail Bartlett was fatally injured in a hit-and-run crash on Edison Highway in Bakersfield.
The Kern County Coroner’s Office reported the fatality in an Edison Highway hit-and-run involving a man on foot and a white Nissan Sentra in Bakersfield.
They identified the fatality as 26-year-old Erick Mikail Bartlett of Bakersfield.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the Nissan Sentra was heading eastbound on Edison Highway at an unknown speed, striking Bartlett.
The Nissan driver fled the scene after causing the casualty.
Responders then arrived at the scene and saw the pedestrian lying on the floor with life-threatening injuries.
The pedestrian was brought to Kern Medical, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, authorities found the Nissan Sentra on Kentucky Street and Center Street abandoned by the driver.
Officers later found the Nissan abandoned on Kentucky Street and Center Street.
Moreover, CHP is still investigating this Edison Highway hit-and-run and looking for the driver who caused the accident.
