Drunk Driver Crashed Head-On With a Vehicle Occupied By a Family in Hesperia
Hesperia, CA (January 22, 2023) – Nicole Ruddy (33) and her unborn child were identified as the fatalities in a DUI head-on crash on Highway 395 in Hesperia. According to VVNG, the crash occurred around 11:40 pm on Saturday.

Authorities responded to a fatal head-on crash involving a drunk driver and a vehicle occupied by a family at the intersection of Highway 395 in Hesperia.
Two victims, Andrew Ruddy and Nicole Ruddy, who was 35 weeks pregnant, were transported to a regional trauma center due to major injuries sustained in the crash.
Unfortunately, Nicole and her unborn child were later pronounced deceased despite attempts at life-saving measures.
The suspected drunk driver was also transported to a regional trauma center after sustaining major injuries. Authorities identified him as Eddie Escobedo of Hesperia.
According to officials, Escobedo caused a head-on collision after veering into the oncoming path of a Toyota Corolla, which Andrew and Nicole occupied.
Deputies determined that Escobedo was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. He was booked at the West Valley Detention Center and remains in custody with bail.
