Sonoma County, CA (July 19, 2023) – Five people sustained major injuries in a Highway 101 chain reaction crash. According to The Press Democrat, the accident occurred on Wednesday evening.
Five individuals were hospitalized for severe injuries in a Highway 101 chain reaction crash near Healdsburg.
The California Highway Patrol responded to reports of a Highway 101 crash that led to a chain reaction of accidents on Wednesday night.
The crash involved three vehicles, a Chevrolet Tahoe, Nissan Rogue, and a pickup, and resulted in five injured victims.
According to the report, northbound drivers slowed down to check the activity in the opposite lanes, resulting in a rear-end crash in the northbound lanes.
A third collision followed the initial crash involving the victims and another fourth separate accident.
All the injured victims were in a wrecked crimson or burgundy vehicle, and responders airlifted one from the scene.
According to Caltrans, northbound traffic experienced delays up until just north of the Healdsburg Avenue off-ramp throughout the length of the incident.
