Food Truck Owner and 14-Year-Old Boy Suffered Injuries and Burns after Fresno Food Truck Explosion
Fresno, CA (June 24, 2022) – A food truck explosion on First Street and Shaw Avenue in Fresno left two people with injuries and severe burns. According to Your Central Valley, the explosion happened around 2:24 pm on Friday.
The victims of the Fresno food truck explosion are now hospitalized due to major injuries and severe burns.
According to the Fresno Fire Department, they responded to calls about an explosion in the area of First Street and Shaw Avenue.
When the responding crews arrived, a food truck was completely consumed by flames. Later, it was said that the food truck belonged to Planet Vegan.
Following the explosion, two people sustained injuries and severe burns. Authorities later identified the victims as Joe Ellis, the food truck owner, and a 14-year-old boy who happened to pass by the truck at the time of the explosion.
After extinguishing the fire, the Fresno Fire Department then found an exploded propane tank. Debris and shrapnel from the explosion also reportedly hit nearby vehicles.
Right now, a GoFundMe page has been set up for the food truck owner and for the 14-year-old boy.
