Five individuals sustained fatal injuries after four separate Bay Area crashes.
The California Highway Patrol reported five fatalities across the Bay Area in four separate crashes.
The first incident, in San Francisco, involved a car striking a pedestrian.
It took place just before 2:30 a.m. on southbound Interstate 280, north of Highway 101.
Unfortunately, the pedestrian died at the scene, and the driver is now cooperating with the police.
Moreover, another crash occurred in Dublin, just after 2:30 a.m. near Eden Canyon Road, in which one person was killed. Further details are not yet available.
Meanwhile, a third accident, a head-on collision in San Francisco, happened just before 3 a.m. on northbound 101, south of I-280 and Silver Avenue.
Tragically, two lives were lost in this incident.
The final crash took place in San Mateo on southbound I-280, under the Highway 92 overpass, at around 3 a.m.
Initially, a black SUV collided with a concrete pillar for an unknown reason and spanned two lanes. A second car subsequently crashed into it.
Consequently, the driver of the black SUV died. However, it is unclear if this was due to the first or second collision.
The passenger in the other car was taken to a hospital with a pain complaint.

J&M Tip: A heightened sense of vigilance, adequate precautions, and responsible driving behavior are imperative for safer journeys in the dark.

More About Car Accident Liability
Various circumstances of the car accident can pinpoint the liability of damages. In some instances, thorough investigations can reveal careless behavior. This can include the simple act of recklessly turning or cutting in front of another vehicle. In terms of determining who is at fault for an accident, this can be defined by common law. Any Sacramento or Los Angeles car accident lawyer recognizes that fault has four basic levels:
- Negligence
- Recklessness (wanton conduct)
- Intentional misconduct
- Strict liability
However, different state laws can have variations of applicable traffic laws. For example, in some states, multiple drivers can be liable for an accident. This is why thorough investigations are important after a car accident. Having a strong case showing the liability of the at-fault party can help guarantee your compensation. Likewise, a car crash attorney can also help you determine all your options, so you can fully recover from the accident. Learn more about car accident lawyers in California here. Personal Injury (Wrongful Death) Claims in Bay Area
In this case, the family members of the fatal victim in these four separate Bay Area crashes can have the right to pursue a wrongful death lawsuit. However, it can depend on the investigation’s findings. In addition, negligence by a person or business can contribute to an accident, which might have resulted in the death of a family member. If that is the case, you may be able to file a wrongful death claim and receive a big settlement.
Indeed, no amount of money will ever make up for the death of a loved one. However, receiving the maximum settlement and winning a judgment can give a sense of justice. Also, it can offer some peace of mind.
