Merced County, CA (February 9, 2024) – Francisco Rodriguez (60) of Merced County died in a Merced County rollover crash along La Grange Road, north of Field Road. According to Merced Sun-Star, police responded to the crash at about 12:40 a.m. on Saturday.

Francisco Rodriguez, 60-year-old Merced County resident, was identified by the Merced County Sheriff Coroner’s Office as the fatality in a Merced County rollover crash north of Snelling.
According to the California Highway Patrol, they responded near La Grange Road, just north of Field Road.
Based on the information available, Francisco Rodriguez was a passenger in a 2017 Toyota Yaris driven by a 58-year-old man from Merced, traveling north on La Grange Road.
Subsequently, the vehicle veered off the road’s right shoulder under unclear circumstances and rolled over several times. Lack of seatbelt usage led to both Francisco Rodriguez and the driver being thrown out of the car.
Sadly, Francisco Rodriguez was declared dead at the scene, while the driver was sent to a hospital in the Modesto area for treatment of serious injuries.
The CHP indicated that impairment might be a contributing factor, as officers found a minor quantity of drugs and related equipment on one of the car’s occupants.
