Fresno, CA (May 12, 2024) – James Baker (25) and Juan Jaramillo (60) succumbed to fatal injuries after a Fresno motorcycle crash at the intersection of Ashlan Avenue and Maroa Avenue. According to the Fresno Bee, the police responded to the crash just after 1:30 a.m. on Saturday.

A Fresno motorcycle crash killed James Baker, a 25-year-old motorcyclist, and Juan Jaramillo, a 60-year-old driver, after colliding at the intersection of Ashlan Avenue and Maroa Avenue, as confirmed by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office.
According to investigators, the FCSO initiated a pursuit of a reckless driving motorcycle traveling northbound on Maroa Avenue towards Ashlan Avenue.
The motorcyclist then entered the intersection at a high speed and collided with a dark-colored sedan, resulting in fatalities for both the rider and the driver.
Meanwhile, according to court documents, James Baker had faced charges for multiple felonies and a misdemeanor. In an interview with Action News, Baker’s former girlfriend mentioned that he had recently been released from jail but was making positive strides.
Moreover, the Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating the collision to determine liability.
