Poway, CA (December 4, 2022) – Grace Uyeki (69) was identified as the fatality in a pedestrian crash at Edgemoor Street and Midland Road in Poway. According to ABC10 News San Diego, the crash occurred on a Saturday morning.

Grace Uyeki of Poway was recently identified as the victim in a fatal pedestrian crash involving a truck driver in an intersection at Edgemoor Street and Midland Road.
According to the authorities, when the crash occurred, Uyeki was walking her dog across the four-way intersection at Edgemoor Street and Midland Road.
As Uyeki crossed the intersection, the truck driver turned left and failed to yield to the pedestrian. The driver reportedly did not see Uyeki or her dog in the roadway.
The neighbors in their community built a memorial for Uyeki. They remember her as a “wonderful special woman” and a “soft-spoken, kind, gentle, smart” person.
They also mentioned similar experiences while crossing the intersection and that the crash “wouldn’t have happened if the intersection was safer.”
Right now, authorities determined that alcohol or drugs did not appear to be a factor in this tragic accident.
