A Woman Suffered Major Injuries After Getting Involved in a Highway 1 Pedestrian Crash Just Outside Santa Cruz
Santa Cruz, CA (September 28, 2022) – A Highway 1 pedestrian accident left a woman (21) walking along the road with severe injuries in Santa Cruz. According to the Santa Cruz Sentinel, the crash happened around 4:00 pm on Monday.
A woman sustained significant injuries in a Highway 1 pedestrian crash near Coast Road outside Santa Cruz.
According to the authorities, a woman walked west along Highway 1 around Coast Road. Then, she tried crossing the road. A 1997 Ford F350 driven by a male Watsonville citizen (31) then hit her.
After the collision, the male driver remained at the scene and waited for the California Highway Patrol. Responders immediately transported the woman to a trauma center outside the county due to severe injuries.
Authorities noted that this collision happened near a pedestrian and bicycle path along Highway 1 that stretches from Santa Cruz to Wilder Ranch State Park.
Investigations are still ongoing. Authorities also don’t believe that alcohol and drugs played a role in this case.
