Highway 101 Pedestrian Crash Left One Man Fatal in San Martin
San Martin, CA (August 15, 2023) – A San Jose man succumbed to fatal injuries in a Highway 101 pedestrian crash in San Martin. According to The Mercury News, the crash was reported around 10:30 p.m. on August 10.
Two victims succumbed to fatal injuries in two consecutive Highway 101 pedestrian crashes in San Martin.
The California Highway Patrol responded to a fatal Highway 101 pedestrian crash in San Martin, one day after another pedestrian died on the same stretch of road.
The victim, whose name was not disclosed, had pulled over his car to the shoulder of the highway and had gotten out.
Subsequently, a vehicle struck him as he stood in a traffic lane. The vehicle then fled the scene.
Unfortunately, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The CHP did not disclose any information about the hit-and-run vehicle and stated that the circumstances of the incident were still under investigation.
Meanwhile, the previous day, a 36-year-old man from Riverside lost his life around 12:30 p.m. on the southbound 101 shoulder south of San Martin Avenue.
While securing his cargo next to his vehicle, he was struck by a box truck driven by an Oakland man that had veered onto the shoulder.
The truck operator stayed on the scene and did not suffer any injuries.
