Sacramento, CA (July 21, 2023) – A 9-year-old boy succumbed to fatal injuries in a Highway 50 multi-car crash in Sacramento. According to Fox40, the accident occurred about 6:30 p.m. on July 20.

The California Highway Patrol responded to a fatal Highway 50 car crash involving multiple vehicles in the westbound lanes of Highway 50 in Sacramento.
The accident resulted in the death of a 9-year-old boy, identified as Abdelkarim Alhazaymeh of Elk Grove.
According to authorities, a 19-year-old woman operating a 2017 Mazda attempted to change lanes but inadvertently collided with the front of a nearby Toyota driven by a 52-year-old man.
Following the impact, the Mazda veered to the right and then swerved back onto the road, striking the driver’s side of an oncoming Honda. To avoid the collision, the Honda driver, a 44-year-old man, shifted to the right, causing the vehicle to overturn multiple times on the 59th Street on-ramp.
Despite the responders’ prompt medical efforts, the young child succumbed to his injuries after being ejected onto the ramp.
Moreover, police determined that the boy was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
Meanwhile, the three other occupants of the Honda incurred minor injuries. Responders then took them to a local hospital for treatment.
Due to this Highway 50 multi-car crash, the authorities temporarily blocked the 59th Street on-ramp for two hours.
