I-208 Wrong-Way Car Crash Left Two With Fatal Injuries and Two Others Injured in Los Altos Hills
Los Altos, CA (July 28, 2023) – Two individuals sustained fatal injuries in an I-208 wrong-way car crash. Two other victims also sustained severe injuries. According to NBC Bay Area, police received reports about the crash at 1:13 a.m. on Saturday.
A driver and a passenger suffered fatal injuries in the I-208 wrong-way car crash. Two other victims also sustained significant injuries due to the collision.
The California Highway Patrol responded to a tragic I-208 wrong-way crash on southbound Interstate Highway 280 in Los Altos Hills, claiming the lives of a young man and a young woman.
According to CHP spokesperson Officer Art Montiel, a 2007 Honda Civic traveled northbound in the wrong direction, which led to a head-on collision with a 2021 Toyota Avalon just north of El Monte Road.
Tragically, the 23-year-old woman from San Jose, who was driving the Honda, and a 23-year-old male passenger, also from San Jose, succumbed to their injuries in the crash.
Additionally, two men in their 40s in the Toyota suffered severe injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
CHP officers suspect that the driver of the Honda was under the influence of intoxicating substances, but a definitive conclusion awaits the results of a toxicology report.
Following the incident, CHP officials closed southbound Highway 280 to conduct a thorough investigation.
