Kern County, CA (June 27, 2023) – A pedestrian and a driver sustained fatal injuries after being involved in an Interstate 5 pedestrian crash in Kern County. According to BakersfieldNow, the crash occurred around 9: 04 p.m. on June 25.

The California Highway Patrol responded to an Interstate 5 pedestrian crash involving a 1998 Chevrolet and a pedestrian in Kern County.
Authorities said the single-car crash resulted in two fatalities, including the driver and a pedestrian.
According to the authorities, they received an accident report involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on southbound Interstate 5, just north of Lebec Service Road.
Unfortunately, both the driver and the pedestrian succumbed to their injuries.
Police mentioned that the pedestrian was a man and the Chevrolet driver was an 82-year-old man from Upland.
Due to the impact of the crash, authorities temporarily closed the southbound lanes for about three and a half hours.
