Interstate 5 Two-Car Crash Left Five People Fatal and Another Injured in Tehama County
Tehama County, CA (July 30, 2023) – Five people succumbed to fatal injuries in an Interstate 5 two-car crash in Tehama County. Another victim sustained significant injuries from the accident. According to Action News Now, the crash occurred around 12:44 p.m. on Saturday.
An Interstate 5 two-car crash caused five people to succumb to fatal injuries and another victim severely injured.
The California Highway Patrol reported five people are dead and one significantly injured in a two-car crash on Interstate 5 south of Liberal Avenue near Corning.
According to the police, a northbound car on Interstate 5 crossed over the center divide and collided with a truck towing a travel trailer. The reasons for the car crossing over are unknown at this time.
Consequently, the driver and all three passengers in the car were ejected from the vehicle, resulting in fatal injuries for all of them.
Unfortunately, the driver of the truck also died as a result of the crash. Meanwhile, one passenger was sent to the hospital with major injuries.
After being closed for investigation, Caltrans has announced that Interstate 5 is now open again in both directions.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
