The accident transpired around 7:40 p.m. while he was traveling northbound on Soquel San Jose Road, located just south of Los Robles Road.
A 2004 Chevrolet Silverado pickup driven by James Dale Harwood veered off the road, collided with a raised asphalt curb, and subsequently struck a chain-link fence.
Unfortunately, according to the California Highway Patrol, Harwood succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident.
